Motivated by a desire to serve others by providing superb medical care, Dr. Morris constantly strived to do her best throughout her training. She graduated Valedictorian of her high school, where she received early acceptance to medical school at the University of South Alabama. While she also graduated top of her entire class at USA, she chose to go to the University of Alabama School of Medicine due to the strong surgical training it provided. She was blessed to receive numerous merit scholarships and awards throughout her undergraduate and medical training years. She then was selected to the Duke University Medical Center’s Ophthalmology residency program, where she received the Duke Ocular Innovation Award for her prospective research trial on Bimatoprost (Latisse®) to treat breast cancer patients.

She continues to stay involved in research and teaching as a member of the UNT faculty. Since 2010, she has been an instructor for numerous aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery courses with the AAO, ASOPRS, and other organizations.

She has authored over fifteen peer-reviewed research articles and is a reviewer for four plastic and aesthetic surgery journals.

Reviews – good results 

While she has been operating with various types of lasers since 2004, she has achieved board certification in cosmetic laser surgery with an additional qualification in cosmetic laser procedures. This was in an effort to learn even more about this particular field and to give her patients the best results possible.


Dr. Morris successfully completed a 2 year American Society of Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship. She is also a member of this distinguished group of physicians. She has extensive experience in the full scope of oculofacial plastic surgery, including eyelid and orbital trauma reconstruction along with eyelid and orbital tumors.  She has honed her skills in incisional and CO2 laser resurfacing. She currently teaches medical students at the University of North Texas Medical Center, where she is Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Integrative Physiology and Anatomy.   She is also board certified in Cosmetic Laser Surgery with an additional added board certification in Cosmetic Laser Procedures. She is the only female ASOPRS Trained Oculofacial Plastic Surgeon in the entire Dallas-Ft. Worth area. She is the first and only physician Board Certified in Cosmetic Laser Surgery Procedures in Dallas-Ft. Worth area.

Dr. Carrie Morris is also an active reviewer for several internationally recognized peer-reviewed medical journals in her area of expertise which include:
